After graduating from Harvard Divinity School, Harumi Gondo went on to teach world religions and philosophy at Bergen Community College. She also conducted journalism training at United Press International and served as evaluation specialist for Near Media.

Certified in MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) in 2013, she has more than 10,000 hours of training experience in personality type coaching. In 2018, Harumi established Type-lab.org, a type-based community for Japanese mothers, and registered her company 16Type.org in 2022. Her clients have included CEOs, JAXA astronauts, and Osaka University faculty, as well as human resources managers and their teams.

She currently trains companies to efficiently solve organizational and communication problems through personality type.

One of my greatest accomplishments in life is full-heartedly conforming, embracing, and fulfilling my duties as a Japanese kindergarten mom. While juggling Japanese mother duties, I also got certified as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator practitioner, and created a mothers-type community and NPO, as well as incorporated my own company. In my six years as a Japanese mom and I’ve met many different mothers who I have categorized into 16 types.
