A Place to Unwind
Innovative garden provides natural space to relax, reflect, and rejuvenate in all four seasons

The Westin Tokyo, located in the heart of Tokyo, is this month celebrating the first anniversary of its Westin Garden—a 480m2 manicured garden that represents traditional Japanese life.

The award-winning landscape artist, Kazuyuki Ishihara, worked with staff at the luxury hotel to create a three-dimensional environment that focuses on the balance of the ecosystem. To do this, Ishihara blended European influences and water elements, as well as seasonal flowers and plants. As a result, different colors dominate the garden throughout the seasons.

“We wanted to create a contemporary, designed garden where guests can relax and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in a sophisticated environment,” said Dietmar Kielnhofer, general manager of The Westin Tokyo.

“We have always shown strong interest in taking the lead to create a natural environment and promote healthy living, arts, and culture. The Westin Tokyo is renowned for a high level of personal attention and instinctive service. We are delighted to embrace yet another sustainability initiative.”

Although a prime location for business, entertainment, and shopping, the hotel is surrounded by abundant greenery and offers travelers a place to unwind throughout each season. Further, the innovative garden provides a tranquil space for reflection and renewal, thereby extending the brand’s promise of helping guests leave feeling better than when they arrived.

The beautiful garden, set within the grounds of the hotel in one of Tokyo’s most elegant neighborhoods, has opened its doors to the public, providing a way to contribute to the local community. The natural space provides photo opportunities, outdoor cocktail parties for social gatherings, and a natural refuge for garden enthusiasts and naturalists to relax and recharge.

Other features of the hotel include: five restaurants; two bars; one lounge; Le Spa Parisien for a European spa experience; as well as nine function and meeting rooms of various sizes.
