One of its unique advantages is that it is produced in a pure form by the black yeast, unlike other beta glucans, which are extrac­ted from sources such as baker’s yeast or shiitake mushrooms. In terms of purity, Nichi Glucan stands above the rest,” said Abraham. He added that the water used to produce the black yeast is obtained from the Niyodogawa River in Kochi Prefecture—the river is said to be one of the purest in Japan.

Manufactured in a Good Manufacturing Practice-certified factory in Japan, the product has been approved by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Nichi Glucan contains 42 milligrams of the beta glucan in one sachet. It comes in granules, and can be taken orally or dissolved in water, other beverages, or even in soup.

Abraham explained the many health benefits that the supple­ment offers: “Nichi Glucan is a three-in-one product. In our studies, we have found that it helps with the control of blood sugar and high cholesterol, and immune enhancement in both cancer patients and healthy elderly people.” He added: “It enhances immunity and balances the metabolism, thereby helping to overcome lifestyle-related conditions.”
