Lakeland University Japan, a branch campus of an accredited Wisconsin university, offers a two-year Associate of Arts program. Students can then extend their studies at our main campus or another university to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree.

  • We are a branch campus of an American University located in Shinjuku that offers an accredited undergraduate program as well as continuing education for American, Japanese, and international students.

  • Prospective students choose our school because we offer an American degree and instruction in English. We also offer small classes that are conducted in safe surroundings, in the comfort of Japan.

  • Aside from the high-quality instruction, LUJ’s greatest strength is its size. Because of our small student body, we know all students by name. Faculty and staff give individual attention and assistance to students. Many classes have limits of 15 or 16 students; Japanese classes often have only three to six students. Our unique “2 + 2” program allows students to pursue their courses in Japan while earning an Associate in Arts degree and half the credits towards a Bachelor’s degree here or abroad. They have a better chance of transferring to a competitive university in the United States or elsewhere than they would have had applying directly after graduating from high school.
